If you’re living in New Mexico, there’s a good chance you already know that there’s a sizable forest fire in the Manzano Mountains. They’re calling it the Dog Head fire.
This photo was taken by my friend and Manzano Mountain Arts Council board member Rebecca Anthony. It was taken from Mountainair, about 25 miles south of the fire.
We drove through the area where the Dog Head fire is burning this past August. It’s beautiful country, with quaint little mountain towns and sprawling ranches. I hope the residents all stay safe.
Rebecca assures me that the fire is moving away from Mountainair, and the MMAC art exhibit.
By the way, the exhibit is still on display for the rest of this week. Just don’t go near the fire!
