Taos Entry, Work in Progress

image

I made some progress on my entry to the Taos exhibit I wrote about earlier. Tomorrow I’ll but blooms on the chamisa and define the other shrubs.

This is a little experimental for me. I’ve never used such bright colors in a dead tree before!

      1. There’s a few good videos on YouTube. I like it because I paint with a palette knife, and you can have the heavy impasto and maintain the translucence of such paints like alizarin crimson, Cad yellow, Cad red, pthalo blue, etc.

      2. I watched a few of them. Very interesting! I really like that palette knife stuff you do. The colors especially and how from a distance your painting has so much dimension and reality but up close…palette knife and texture.
