Chicago Pastel Artist Nancie King Mertz

I like cities. There is so much to do and see.

I went to Chicago for the first time last September. The height and the depth of the city thrilled me! Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to explore much of the art scene. So when I spot an article about art in Chicago, it perks my interest.

Chicago is busy. People might forget about each other. I can remember holding the door for some ladies. They thought I was wonderful! I said “please” and “thank you” at Starbucks, and the servers’ faces lit up. Chicago reminded me, perhaps more than any other place, that when you treat people with courtesy and kindness, they will generally return the same.
